Programmed are the entrancing Dvorak Slavonic Dances, Sibelius’s charismatic Karelia Suite and his famous enchanting Tone Poem Finlandia. Also featured are Grieg’s captivating Peer Gynt Suite and his flamboyant, virtuosic Piano Concerto in A minor.

For the latter work the Orchestra welcomes Hannah Pike – a Brisbane Conservatorium Graduate specialising in Piano and Percussion. She has been performing since the age of four, with highlights including numerous gold medals in local eisteddfods, performing at the Sydney Opera House, participating in the Crossbows Chamber Music Festival and Australian Piano Duo Festival, and playing at several fundraising concerts. She has received masterclasses from John Chen, Roy Howat and Sivan Silver, and has studied with world-class recitalist Natasha Vlassenko. Hannah is currently studying with Daniel de Borah, who is recognised as one of Australia’s foremost musicians!

Come, experience and enjoy this Nationalistic programmatic music by some of the greatest composers of the Romantic period. Be absorbed and immersed in the brilliant performances of the Sunshine Coast Orchestra’s players and soloist, conducted by Adrian King.

The TS Onslow Navy Cadets will provide supper for purchase.
