My Friend the Chocolate Cake

My Friend The Chocolate Cake are making a joyful appearance at Brisbane Powerhouse to perform their historic first two albums back to back.

On Saturday 28 March MFTCC will grant the wish of many long term fans and perform their first two albums back to back – My Friend The Chocolate Cake (1991) and Brood (1994).

Having played the hits from both albums consistently for over 25 years, the band will be dusting off a few of the rarer numbers: “We’ve seen other bands play a particular landmark album in its entirety and in order. We think it’s a grand idea. So in the spirit of the magpie we are pilfering this idea and making it our own.”

Their first LP was recorded in a day and produced a freeness in how the band played the songs, whilst their second release Brood has the band’s most successful song to date on it – I’ve Got A Plan.
