Over three huge weeks from 7 – 30 July 2017 Queensland Music Festival will take over the state, bringing unforgettable music experiences to cities, regions and remote corners of Queensland.
Under Artistic Director Katie Noonan, the 2017 QMF program is as diverse as this great state – showcasing some of the most talented local, national and international musicians across 100 performances, including six world premieres.
The Festival will offer Queenslanders the chance to hear and be heard, with a rich tapestry of musical experiences designed to uncover and empower young musicians, bring quality music to regional communities, and shed light on current social issues.
For classical music lovers program highlights include a performance of The Merry Widow at the ever-popular Opera at Jimbour beside the picturesque Jimbour House. Sanctuary – a moving concert experience exploring the concept of sanctuary and refuge, led by Camerata – Queensland’s Chamber Orchestra and including a world premiere commission from brilliant pianist and composer Joe Chindamo.
