Welcome to the awesome launching concert of the Queensland Pops Orchestra’s 2017 series spectacular!

This group of fine professional musicians is the real deal: renowned for giving their audience world-class musicianship and first-class entertainment and of course the best harmonic massage imaginable. Maestro Patrick Pickett CSM has devised a sublime program of heart-stirring music to launch the 2017 series with an emphasis on that most divine musical combination, the duet. Yes … whether it be our two wonderful guest vocalists singing in harmony, or a showcase pair drawn from the Queensland Pops Orchestra’s fine stable of musicians, audiences can be assured of a superb afternoon of entertainment.

Following her triumphant return to help us ring in New Year 2016, acclaimed musical theatre star Silvie Paladino is thrilled to be headlining our much-anticipated first concert of the 2017 series. Joining Silvie as co-star in this fabulous potpourri of great music will be acclaimed young Brisbane singer Thomas Armstrong-Robley, a graduate of the Queensland Conservatorium and a rising force on both the Australian and international musical theatre scene. Audiences may remember Thomas from the sensational QPO Rhonda Burchmore on Broadway concerts in 2016.
