Ballet suites based on two immortal love stories and world premieres of two new works are featured by the Queensland Youth Symphony under conductor John Curro. The ballet scores for Romeo and Juliet and Daphnis and Chloe by Prokofiev and Ravel are two of the finest orchestral works of the 20th century and are renowned for the genius of their musical depictions. We proudly present a new orchestral work (Tchambreen is an aboriginal word for “where we live”) and marimba concerto by acclaimed Queensland composers Michael Knopf and Thomas Green to open the concert.
