String players, flute, recorder and penny whistle players, acoustic guitarists, bodhran players, Uilleann pipes and button accordion players – youth and adult musicians ALL WLELCOME! Jump in and participate at your own level, as multi-level parts are emailed out once you are booked in.

Rhythmic grooves, open string drones, chords, harmony and melody parts will be taught in the workshop. BONUS opportunity to perform what we learn in the informal community concert after the workshop.

Have you got a burning ambition to be the fastest fiddler in town? Does your foot stomp and your toes twirl when you hear Celtic Tunes? Do you fancy learning not only how to play quick Jigs but also slow beautiful ballads? Join Teaching Artist and professional musician Louise King to explore the world of Celtic Tunes in a fun, fiddling frenzy. Musicians will develop folk idiomatic performance skills, learn tunes and options for accompaniment parts plus explore ways to make music that communicates the toe-tapping joy of Celtic folk tradition.

Presented by Teaching Artist and professional musician Louise King, this community music workshop will give participants the opportunity to create, improvise and play music together and spend time connecting with other community musicians.

“Celtic Music is very accessible for budding and aspiring musicians. Anyone can jump in and give it a go! Due to folk music’s community practice of learning by ear and from each other, it brings people together of all abilities and instruments which makes for an exciting musical mix and one BIG community band.”

Cello Dreaming believes in community building opportunities and the benefits that come from combining multiple age ranges and abilities in musical activities.
