The Full Quid – Presented by The Bug

The Full Quid evoke the sound of timber and strings ringing through kitchen rafters and rich voices in harmony around a pinewood table ; the tone of the work boot heel on the school of arts hall floor at a Saturday night dance. Like others before them, this band of long-time friends and master musicians joins the dots between folk, country and rock and roll tapping into a musical tradition that runs through Woody Guthrie, Hank Williams and Bill Monroe to Buddy Holly, the Everly Brothers and Johnny Cash, and onwards through Bob Dylan, Neil Young and Ray Davies. The Full Quid take this blend from its roots in dusty dance halls, the kitchen, the hearth and the veranda all the way to the stage. There they throw in a little backbeat just for the fun of it. These days they call this style Americana. They’re not sure what that means if you live in Brisbane, Australia so, when the Full Quid play, they just call it real music.
