The Brisbane International Youth Music Festival (BIYMF), 14th July – 16th July 2016 , will provide an opportunity for emerging musically talented youth to gain experience in competition at an international standard and to perform in front of packed music-loving Brisbane audiences.
The competition component of the BYMF is for solo instrumentalists, solo vocalists and ensembles, aged 21 years or under. Eight internationally acclaimed musicians from Australia, Germany, Israel, and USA will form the panel to adjudicate the competition.
During the BIYMF, musicians will be mentored in master classes by internationally acclaimed musicians, including members of the Festival’s panel. Master classes in conducting, piano, voice, violin, brass and woodwind instruments are planned.
The BYMF competition will be held at the Queensland Performing Arts Centre.
All First place winners will be granted the opportunity to perform as recitalists at the Crescendo Competition in January 2017 at New York’s Carnegie Hall.
The BIYMF will contribute to further advancing Brisbane as a cultural centre with an international reputation for emerging and established Australian and international artists.
