Featuring the Orava String Quartet
These two musical powerhouses will join forces in March to present ‘Remembrance’ – a sublime programme of string orchestra and string quartet masterpieces. Highlights include works by Handel and Shostakovich, ‘Oblivion’ – the famous tango by Piazzolla, and Elgar’s breathtaking ‘Introduction and Allegro’ for string quartet and string orchestra.
Orava Quartet is rapidly emerging as one of Australia’s most exciting chamber music ensembles. Achievements include being graduate quartet-in-residence at the University of Colorado in 2014, and ensemble-in-residence at the acclaimed Banff Arts Centre in Canada. They have played in many prestigious music festivals in Australia and overseas.
