Primary and secondary school aged viola and cello students (from AMEB Grade 2 equivalent and above) are invited to perform and receive coaching from Collusion musicians Bethan Lewis and Dr Danielle Bentley, under the observation of a friendly audience. Each student will receive 20 minutes tuition. Studio teachers may also apply for a place if they wish to discuss teaching strategies and ask questions in an extended open forum.
There will be only 6 places offered – first 6 students/teachers will receive a performance/discussion place. If there is demand a 2nd workshop may be offered for Sunday the 12th March (please enquire if places fill).
Each student should prepare a short performance of musical work/s which lasts no more than 7 minutes (an excerpt of a longer work is okay). A piano accompanist will be engaged for the event (please email Collusion piano part to gareth@collusion.com.au). Students are also welcome to perform with their own accompanist. Accompaniment is not essential, however is encouraged.
Observing student/teacher/parent ($12):
All ages of students are welcome to observe, from beginners to advanced. To make these workshops possible and the following concert free, we ask that all observers respect the attendance fee.
The Collusion concert following the workshop/s at 3pm (Gallery 1) is FREE. Seating may be limited.
