The Brisbane City Pops Orchestra will begin their concert series this year with “A Right Royal Performance”, featuring a fantastic cross-section of British music.
We will remember the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II with William Walton’s Crown Imperial March and enjoy the very famous Knightsbridge March by Eric Coates.
Such favourites as Elizabethan Serenade (Ronald Binge) , Scottish Patrol and the rousing Pomp and Circumstance will feature in our journey through the best-known music from around the British Isles.
We are excited to feature one of our favourite singers, the very talented Leslie Martin, who will perform selections from two fantastic musicals – My Fair Lady and Camelot- as well as a beautiful rendition of The Lass with the Delicate Air.
When we think of British music, who can forget the very famous and beautiful Beatles’ hit, Yesterday, and the amazing music of Andrew Lloyd Webber – we will perform a selection of his favourites!
The Emmanuel College Pipers will also be featured as guest artists and will entertain you with their unique and beautiful playing.
What better way to start the musical year than with the BCPO and “A Right Royal Performance”!
