The Bands in Parks program celebrates, activates and enhances the enjoyment of Brisbane’s parks and outdoor spaces and provides accessible family entertainment that allows all of Brisbane’s diverse communities to participate in the cultural life of the city. The program does this by organising a free weekly brass and concert band program based in Council parks and outdoor areas.

Brisbane’s community bands have been associated with Brisbane City Council and its predecessors prior to World War 1 with both brass and military bands being part of the cultural life of Brisbane since its early days. The Bands in Parks program is managed by Brisbane Metropolitan Bands which was founded in 1916 specifically to represent bands in negotiations with Council and to coordinate their performances.

All concerts are FREE. No bookings required.
