City Sounds: Vardos

Driven by Alana’s wild violin, chased by accordion and double bass, Vardos plays high-energy folk and world music, combined with tall and true tales from Eastern Europe.

The trio has studied with many Roma (gypsy) musicians during its travels. Based in Melbourne, the band has toured Hungary, France, Berlin, Switzerland, Amsterdam, New Caledonia, New Zealand, London and Scotland.

Catch the enthralling Vardos vibe at the Queen Street Mall stage, as part of the City Sounds live-music program, on Saturday, 5 August, at noon, 1pm and 2pm.
