“Fantasy and Imagination” is the title of The Sunshine Coast Symphony Orchestra’s first concert of the season on Saturday the 18th of March at 2pm at St Mark’s Anglican Church in Buderim. Bring the family.

It is often said – fantasy is a product of the imagination – but it is mostly too far away from reality – and in the Symphony Orchestra’s afternoon’s presentation they will transport you to this world of make believe when they perform popular programmatic music that includes Peter and the Wolf by the great Russian composer Prokofiev. Then let your imagination be blown away with the stories of Middle Earth in the trilogy Lord of the Rings.

Enter the dream-world of magic in The Chronicles of Narnia – The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe. Cross over dimensions to the land of Hogwarts and wizardry, and the Ministry of Witchcraft in the stories of Harry Potter.

Led by Alex Pattri and conducted by Adrian King, this is a concert that will appeal to the young and not so young, the seasoned concert punter and the inexperienced listener. You will enjoy the magical enchantment of the music played by this superb orchestra of brilliant and experienced players.

Children are welcome. Here is an opportunity to introduce young ones to the delights of orchestral music related to children’s stories.

Tickets are available here (see below) and from the Old Buderim Post Office from 1st March 2017.

Adults & Teenagers $20; Under 12 years $5 (Afternoon Tea included).
