Foco Nuevo

For October we welcome Tim Palmer to Foco Nuevo for the first time, and Wendy Murray who hasn’t played for us for quite a while. Hope to see you there!

Tim Palmer has been a working musician for most of his life. He currently resides in Brisbane, fingerpicking the guitar with proto Rock’n’Rollers The Argonauts and Alternative Country band Truckstop, among others.
For Foco Nuevo he will be making a return to the acoustic guitar, and presenting a program of original songs written in different styles.
Wendy Murray Trio play music to tickle funny bones, tempt and delight senses, traversing distant landscapes, colourful lives and emotions. An intimate musical repast served up together with the adventurous spirits of Clint Allen (piano) and Amy Allen (cello), this trio take you from the sassy underworld of Weimar Republic Berlin Cabaret to the heights of Persian Prayer, Shakespeare, gems from Michel Legrand and Sting in one sitting. Jumping Fences: the song-writing partnership of Lachlan Hurse and Sue Monk join forces with Ross Gwyther, Dan Simpson, James Harper and Robbie Stewart, to create an innovative style that is inspired by their long association with Latin American singer-songwriters. Dynamic arrangements move easily between tenderness and energy and their lyrics take the rich poetry of everyday life into bigger social themes, creating strong points of connection for their audiences.
