GHOSTS & MEMORIES – Presented by Qld Conservatorium of Music

The Lyrebird Trio makes a welcome concert return to the Queensland Conservatorium, after their recent residency and recording at the Banff Centre for the Arts, Canada,
presenting two masterworks of the repertoire. Taking its name after its ‘ghostly’ slow movement, Beethoven’s D Major Trio is a favourite of the chamber repertoire, with its dramatic contrasts and symphonic scale. Smetana’s passionate, life-affirming Piano Trio is dedicated to the memory of his musically-precocious daughter, who had tragically passed at the age of four from scarlet fever.
