Following rave reviews from Woodford Folk Festival, join DeepBlue, Australia’s most innovative indie orchestra, for a musical evening like no other.

Bursting with lush strings, bass beats and drama, DeepBlue invite you to an audio-visual exploration created from the streets and myths of Mumbai.

Accompanied by unique visuals from Indian sand artist Siddhi Yadav, each scene is like a painting of light and music as Yadav makes sand dance to the rhythm of her fingertips. Joined by additional guest musicians on an exotic line-up of instruments including tabla, shahibaja and shahkeman, India Stories pays homage to DeepBlue and Yadav’s time with the young musicians of Dharavi.

Audiences are invited to use their smart phones to access DeepBlue’s ESP, an Electronic Show Program that is full of information about DeepBlue’s music and clues about the show’s story. This ground-breaking web app also enables audience members to anonymously share their responses to this Bollywood tale.

DeepBlue will engage with Brisbane’s musical community leading up to their India Stories show by working with Brisbane teachers and local young musicians. On each day of the show groups of young musicians will participate in DeepBlue’s fun and creative India Stories workshop that will culminate in a unique performance opportunity with DeepBlue.
