QYO and QPAC are proud to present one of Germany’s leading youth orchestras, the Mannheim Youth Orchestra, during its 2016 Australian tour with a popular program of orchestral masterpieces.

Conductor Jan-Paul Reinke

Born in Mannheim, Jan-Paul Reinke has been Conductor of the JugendSinfonie Orchester Mannheim since February 2016. He graduated with distinction from the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Cologne, where he studied Education in Music (piano Prof. Paulo Álvares), B.Mus. Conducting and

M.Mus. Opera Conducting with Prof. Michael Luig. From 2013-2015 he was assistant of Prof. Stephan E. Wehr and conducted performances of operas by Krenek and Donizetti. Numerous first performances of pieces by young composers took place under his leadership. He conducted the German premieres of orchestral works by Eduard G. Álvares and Paulo Álvares in Cologne as part of the German-Brazilian-Year 2014.

For several years Reinke has been Chief Conductor of the Kammerorchester Bonn-Röttgen. The Sinfonietta104 Cologne played under his baton from 2011-2013 and again in 2014. Recent projects include working with the Bonner Jugendsinfonieorchester, Hochschulorchester HfMT Cologne and Stuttgart, Niederrheinische Sinfoniker, Bergische Sinfoniker, Stuttgarter Kammerorchester and the Philharmonie Südwestfalen. Reinke also performed concerts in various European Countries.

For two seasons Reinke has been a member of the Opera Studio at the Theater Krefeld/Mönchengladbach. He was also a scholar of the Richard Wagner Scholarship Foundation and is founder and chairman of Cognimus Collektiv e.V., Cologne.
