We welcome Karina Bryer as our soloist on French Horn.

Rosetti – Horn Concerto in Eb., Wagner: Overture to Rienzi., Elgar: The Wand of Youth Suite #1, Op 1a

Karina started horn at 12 after playing flute for 5 years, studying with John Redfern from Toowoomba. She attend MOST in grade 12 and went on to study horn at the University of Queensland with Peter Luff, playing with the Queensland Youth Orchestra and attending National Music Camp. She graduated with honours and began teaching as a multi-instrumental teacher with Education Queensland, while maintaining her
playing with casual work with the Queensland Symphony Orchestra and Queensland Pops Orchestra, as well as performing in Community Orchestras, the Royal Australian Navy Band and Tubby & Co. Brass Quintet. After several years Karina began postgraduate
studies in performance at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music, again with Peter Luff. A dedicated teacher, she continues to pass on her knowledge of the horn to students, having a number of students successfully undertake their own study at University level.
Karina has maintained her commitment to community music, performing as principal horn with the Brisbane Symphony Orchestra, the Royal Australian Navy Band and various chamber ensembles
