String Workshops – Presented by ACO

The ACO and ACO2 conduct String Workshops during their national and regional tours each year. Students become part of the ACO for a day, learning our rehearsal and performance techniques. Workshops are held annually in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide and Canberra. Regional workshops are programmed according to the ACO2 touring schedule.

Thematically structured rehearsals and tutorials are based around concepts such as listening, leading, breathing, blending and performance style. Students from different schools combine to form a chamber orchestra with ACO players leading each section. Each workshop culminates in an informal performance for family and friends.

String workshops are free of charge and run for three hours.
