Camerata Starter (for Primary School Students)
Camerata Starter is the perfect introduction to those who are new to the Camerata experience. Learn about the instruments of the string orchestra and hear the unique sounds of each.
Learn about the two most common ways to play a string instrument – arco and pizzicato. Hear a story come to life in music.
Bring your best bidding strategy for Camerata’s “Instrument Auction”. Experience music that spans 300 years!
Learn how an 18 piece string orchestra plays without a conductor. What’s the connection between going to bed and the sound of the string orchestra? All will be revealed…
The Camerata of St John’s has cemented its reputation on the concert hall stage as a gem of an ensemble, consistently delivering stylish and innovative presentations of repertoire that spans centuries. Not only is Camerata passionate about creating music, the ensemble is just as passionate about education – nurturing the next generation of young string players, allowing audiences that may not get the opportunity to have the full Camerata experience (a live, acoustic chamber orchestra performance), working closely with schools to generate excitement about string playing and music in general.
